Polyphil®

PolyPhil® Polynucleotide Skin Booster — Now at PIFU Clinic Ipoh

PolyPhil® is a polynucleotide-based skin booster from Croma-Pharma, Austria — designed to improve skin quality from within, not add volume. Here's what it is, how it works, and what to expect.

PolyPhil treatment information

At PIFU clinic, we believe it is important that you are well informed. During a no-obligation consultation, we discuss in detail the PolyPhil treatment, the expected results, the costs and possible side effects. Alternative treatments are also discussed so that you can make an informed choice.

During the consultation, there is of course plenty of room to ask your questions. The doctor will take the time to answer them. If you like, you can bring someone with you to the consultation or record the conversation on your phone so you can listen to it again later. The consultation for skin boosters  is free of charge and without obligation. The consultation in no way obliges you to proceed to treatment. Of course there is time for treatment if you wish.

Numbing cream

STEP 1: Numbing cream is applied on your face for 30-45 min to maximize comfort during treatment.

Skin Preparation

STEP 2: Along with the removal of numb cream, the skin is cleansed and anti-septic is applied.

Treatment

POLYPHIL treatment generally takes around 30-60minutes. More tolerable when compared with other PN.

Glowing Skin

Result will last for as long as you maintain it. Generally 2-4weeks for 3 times then 6 monthly maintenance.

Is Polyphil® the same as a filler?

No. Polyphil® doesn't add volume the way dermal fillers do — it works by stimulating your skin's own regenerative processes, improving skin quality rather than reshaping facial contours.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes — polynucleotide skin boosters are often used alongside other treatments like dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, or energy-based devices as part of a broader skin quality plan.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your skin's condition and goals. Most treatment plans start with an initial series before moving into a longer-term maintenance schedule — your doctor will tailor this after an assessment.

POLYPHIL®

PolyPhil® is an injectable gel made of long-chain polynucleotides (PN) — nucleic acid molecules derived from purified, natural sources. It's produced using Croma's PN-HPT® (Polynucleotide High Purification Technology), a manufacturing process designed to achieve a high level of purification.

Importantly, PolyPhil® is not a dermal filler. Where fillers like Juvederm add volume and fullness, PolyPhil® works by stimulating fibroblasts — the skin cells responsible for producing collagen — to improve skin tone, texture, hydration, and elasticity over time, rather than reshaping facial contours.

How It Works

Polynucleotides support the skin in a few key ways:

  • Stimulating fibroblast activity, which drives collagen and elastin production
  • Deeply hydrating the skin and helping neutralize free radicals
  • Creating a more favorable environment for skin cell regeneration and repair

This makes PolyPhil® particularly suited to areas with thin, delicate, or aging skin — including under the eyes, neck, and areas affected by fine lines or acne scarring.

What to Expect

Initial effects are often visible after the first session, but for optimal results, a course of 3-4 treatments spaced 2-3 weeks apart is typically recommended. Results build progressively as collagen and skin regeneration continue over the following weeks.

PolyPhil® vs. Other Skin Boosters

It's a fair question if you've researched skin boosters before: how does this differ from something like Profhilo or Rejuran? In broad terms, hyaluronic acid-based boosters like Profhilo primarily hydrate and lightly firm the skin, while polynucleotide-based treatments like PolyPhil® are proposed to work more on stimulating the skin's own regenerative and collagen-producing processes. Different polynucleotide products also vary by source and purification method — worth discussing directly with your doctor to determine which suits your specific skin concerns.
